R.I.P Beautiful Eva!

 Eva Mónica Anna Ekvall Johnson
 (15 March 1983 – 17 December 2011)

Was a Venezuelan TV news anchor, author, and a former Miss Venezuela. She was a finalist in the Miss Universe 2001 contest. Ekvall had a degree in communications from Universidad Santa María in Caracas. She first appeared on TV in the Televen show Las Rottenmayer. She was also famous among Venezuelan fashion magazines including Ocean Drive and Sambil among others. She held the title of Miss Venezuela in 2000 and was the third runner-up in the Miss Universe 2001 pageant. As a Buddhist, she was the first non-Christian to have won the title of Miss Venezuela.



In February 2010, Ekvall was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer, and underwent eight months of treatment that included chemotherapy, radiation and a mastectomy. She chronicled this experience in a book of photographs, Fuera de Foco (Out of Focus), released in 2011 After suffering from complications of her disease, she died on 17 December 2011 at 28 years of age in Houston, Texas.



Ekvall's husband posted a photo on Twitter Sunday showing a close-up of his hand holding hers, resting on a hospital bed, with the words "Always together ... I love you wife."

    I thanks god that my mom is still with me.She's right now crossing breast Cancer but is in stage 0 so she's and the doctor say there's solution.
